Following the roots of Mono’s void (an inherited supernatural ability within the universe of my comic concept, Tharumaru), we follow her on a walk through the woods, quietly contemplating as she gathers honey fungus mushrooms.
To accompany her journey, I wrote a poem, inspired by the Garden Physic works of Sylvia Legris.
White Rot, A. Mellia:

Screened against the sun,

Dripping honey – glazed – they glow with such warmth.
And I wonder what it would be like to be small,
So small that I could lie beneath its cap and hide away from the sky.

To shield my eyes from the light which tickles my skin,
To burrow myself beneath, root between dampened blades,
Shroud my very being in its hue.

At the base,

An apple lies, half-rotten yet blushed with life
Scented with petrichor, a complementary comfort.
Yet bitter, steadily fading away into the earth

To lift it – tear it – away and into my palm, I ponder,
To pluck what silently threatens its neighbouring inhabitants,
A presence that charms and glows with such warmth.
